A Bold New Crunch - Crisps Packaging Design
Background
Tribera works closely with Costa’s Innovation team to support new product launches. Costa Coffee traditionally stocked products from a variety of suppliers. For this project, we partnered with Costa Coffee to design the packaging for their first own-label range of crisps and popcorn.
Client challenge
Costa Coffee wanted to trial an own-label crisps, popped chips, and popcorn range, signalling quality and flavour while staying true to the brand in a competitive retail snack market.
Our Solution
We identified that Costa’s refreshed brand identity could be paired with vibrant flavour cues and navigation to balance familiarity with innovation, while highlighting provenance and quality.
Our in-house design, production, and artwork teams combined category research, creative concepting and packaging execution, developing bold, flavour-led visuals with colour blocking and ingredient illustrations. Concepts underwent qualitative and quantitative A/B testing before being refined into final, print-ready artwork.
Tribera demonstrated the ability to take a brand into a new category confidently, pairing design thinking with production experience for on-shelf success.

The launch delivered a fresh, premium look instantly associated with Costa Coffee, driving sales uplift and leading to a full rollout.
