About victor
Tell us about your academic journey and what led you to Academy?
With over 8 years experience in graphic design, illustration, and basic video editing skills, I pursued the MA in Future Media to deepen my understanding of marketing communications and creative strategy. The Academy has given me real-world experience and strengthened my ability to combine creativity with commercial impact and think beyond strategy.
What sparked your interest in the creative marketing industry?
I’ve always been fascinated by how visuals, words, and media shape perception. I was drawn to marketing because it sits at the intersection of storytelling and strategy. I believe it’s where creativity meets purpose, and that’s where I thrive.
What made you choose to build your career in Birmingham's creative scene?
Birmingham’s creative scene is diverse, with its collaborative energy and strong community of agencies make it the ideal environment for young creatives like myself to grow and make a real impact.
What's been your most valuable experience during the programme so far?
The most valuable experience has been working on a real client brief. I’ve learned how to ideate more, improve on visual communication, and work with different departments in the agency, to understand essential skills relevant for a career in creative marketing.
Where do you see yourself in 2-3 years?
In the next 2–3 years, I see myself working as a Junior Designer or Creative Assistant in a creative agency or In-house, building my experience across digital campaigns, branding, and visual storytelling. My long-term goal is to become an Art Director, leading campaigns that blend bold design with powerful messaging.
Which areas of marketing are you most passionate about?
I’m passionate about brand design, creative direction, campaign ideation, AI prompt engineering and digital advertising. I’m also honing my skills in visual identity, storytelling, and social content design that resonates with targeted audiences
Share something interesting or unexpected about yourself.
I spend hours pushing my creative limits by crafting AI-generated videos for commercial use, using AI tools. I’m also fascinated by the advertising process, as I regularly watch how spec ads are made on YouTube to study visual storytelling, pacing, and concept development.
Real client brief
academy experience
The Yugo brief focused on creating a sustainability-led student campaign, empowering Gen Z to lead eco-conscious change. We developed socially-driven ideas that connected global student values with local impact in a bold, collaborative tone as a group.
