"Creative marketer who enjoys making brands feel alive through content, culture, and experiences."
About shreya
What was the route that brought you to Academy by Tribera?
I am graduating from Aston University in July in BSc Marketing and recently completed a placement year at Samsung Electronics, where I worked across campaign marketing and e-commerce. My placement gave me experience launching products, managing digital campaigns, and collaborating with teams across different markets. It also made me realise how much I enjoy working in fast-paced environments where no two days are the same.
I have always known I wanted to work in marketing, but over the past few years I have become particularly interested in social media, PR, and experiential marketing. Academy felt like the perfect next step because I wanted to challenge myself, learn from industry experts, and gain exposure to agency life.
What is it about the creative marketing world that genuinely pulls you in?
I love how marketing sits right in the middle of creativity and business. I find it fascinating how brands can become part of culture and create experiences that people genuinely remember.
What excites me most is seeing ideas come to life. Whether that is a social campaign, an event, a PR activation, or a piece of content, I love the process of taking something from an idea to execution. I am very open, but am especially interested in beauty, lifestyle, and consumer brands because they are always evolving and shaped by trends and communities.
Why do you want to build your career here in Birmingham?
Birmingham has such an exciting and growing creative scene, and I love how collaborative it feels. There are so many talented people, brands, and agencies here, and I think it is a great place to start a career. I would love to contribute to the city's creative community while continuing to learn from the people around me.
Where do you want your career to head over the next couple of years?
Over the next few years, I would love to work in a creative agency or in-house brand team, ideally within beauty, lifestyle, or consumer brands. I am particularly drawn to social media, events and PR and experiential marketing.
Long-term, I want to be the person organising standout events, launching exciting campaigns, and creating experiences that people talk about. If that means helping brands like Sephora or Selfridges bring ideas to life, even better.
What is something about you that has nothing to do with marketing?
Outside of marketing, I am currently on my Couch to 5K journey and trying to become a runner. I also love event planning and have organised everything from birthdays to family celebrations. I used to compete in Bollywood dance competitions and now do Bhangra. Also, I have been to Disney World seven times, which some may say is excessive, but I disagree!
How has working with AI changed the way you think and work?
working with ai
Before Academy, I mainly used AI for simple tasks, but the programme completely changed how I think about it. I now use AI as a genuine thought partner rather than just a search engine.
Using tools like Gemini, NotebookLM, and custom Gems helped me with research, campaign ideas, PR angles, audience insights, and structuring my thinking. I found that AI works best when paired with human creativity and judgement, and it has made me much faster and more confident when tackling new challenges.
Where do you think you will thrive?
strengths and focus
The areas I enjoyed most were social media, PR, and creative strategy. I loved thinking about how brands show up in culture and how campaigns can create genuine conversations.
I also enjoyed experiential marketing because I love the idea of bringing brands to life beyond the screen. I think my strengths lie in combining creativity with organisation and making sure ideas actually get delivered.
