background
The Cornish Company started in November 2020, when brothers Tom and James Woodley began posting hampers of Cornish food and drink from their dad's kitchen table. The business grew fast, becoming one of the UK's fastest-growing food gifting brands, and by 2026 it had outgrown its original look and feel. Following a rebrand around a new platform, “A Delicious Rebellion”, built on the line “smuggling Cornwall's finest since 2020”, the company had a distinct identity in a crowded gifting category. What it didn't yet have was a way to bring that platform to life on screen, and its first TV ad was the next step. The Cornish Company came to Tribera to make it.
Client challenge
The Cornish Company came to Tribera having already developed its brand platform, and wanted support bringing it to life: turning that platform into a film that felt authentically Cornish and stood apart from traditional gifting brands like Fortnum & Mason or Cartwright & Butler. The brief was for something bold, witty and full of character, delivered in 30 seconds.
Our Solution
Tribera developed The Great Cornish Heist, a 30-second TV ad with an Ocean's Eleven tone, a wink rather than menace, following three producers smuggling their wares to the rest of the nation: a baker, a fudge maker and a cream tea artisan, each caught in a freeze frame with their own on-brand alias, The Pastie Pincher, The Fudge-y Smuggler and The West Country Scone'drel. The story resolves with the hamper passed hand to hand, all the way to a customer's front door. We built the production to work as hard as possible: a single shoot day generated the 30-second hero film, three 10-second social cutdowns in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9, freeze-frame paid social statics, hamper product stills for paid ads and the pause screen, and behind-the-scenes content.
The results
Tribera delivered a complete suite of assets, TV (airing on ITV), VOD and social, all built from a single production day, giving The Cornish Company its first national TV presence and a versatile content library from one shoot. This case study is being prepared as the campaign goes live, so full performance data is still to follow.
Testimonial: “We spoke to a few different creative agencies, but Tribera's creativity stood out from the offset. Everything has been incredibly organised, and we've had some honest conversations along the way, which helped us land on the direction, and deliver a TV brand campaign we're really proud of.”
