COSTA COFFEE’S CHRISTMAS CUPS 2026, DESIGNED IN BIRMINGHAM BY TRIBERA

Ollie McGrath • October 22, 2026

Costa Coffee’s Christmas cups for 2026 land in stores today, and for the second year running they’ve been designed by Tribera, the creative agency based at Alpha Tower in Birmingham. Millions of the cups will be served across the globe this festive season.

The three designs tell one story: the festive rituals that bring people together. Each cup is set in its own scene, and every one is filled with small moments shared between friends, families and four-legged companions.

What are the three Costa Christmas cups for 2026?

  • The Christmas market. A bustling market with a big wheel, festive stalls and a Costa store at its centre.
  • The alpine village. A snowy mountain village with cable cars overhead, skiers on the slopes and a sledge being pulled home.
  • The city square. Fireworks over the rooftops, a Costa van serving drinks, a cyclist and dogs out for a festive walk.

The scenes share the same details, so they read as chapters of one story. Ribbon-tied Christmas trees frame each cup, winding paths draw the eye to the centre, and coffee steam made of beans and hearts rises from the chimneys.

What was the brief?

Costa asked Tribera for a festive design built around togetherness and connection, one that felt ownable to Costa, premium, modern and simple.

A Costa Coffee spokesperson said: “As coffee ritual experts, we know a cup of coffee is about so much more than the drink itself. It’s often the thing that brings people together, whether that’s a catch-up with someone you love, a moment with colleagues or simply taking a pause during the festive rush. This year’s Christmas cups celebrate that sense of connection and togetherness, with every design helping to tell the story of the little moments that make Christmas feel special.”

Dan Osadciw, Creative Director at Tribera, said: “This year’s collection celebrates the festive rituals we share that make the season special. Seeing our designs, which started as sketches back in the spring, now in people’s hands never gets old.”

From sketch to cup: how were the designs made?

Every cup started life as a pencil sketch. In the Christmas market scene, early drawings used a river and a bridge to lead the eye into the centre. The final design swapped the water for winding snowy paths and put a Costa store at the heart of the market.

The city square began as an ice rink circling a giant Christmas tree. The team then rebuilt the scene around a Costa shopfront, a coffee van and a cyclist weaving through the crowd.

The illustrations are built from a library of flat, layered elements such as windows, lights, trees and chimneys. That lets the same festive world stretch from a takeaway cup to a shop window without losing its character.

Who is behind the designs?

The cups were created by Tribera’s creative team, led by Dan Osadciw. Dan’s work with Costa spans more than a decade, starting before Tribera was founded in 2019. The agency also designed Costa’s 2025 festive cups.

On working with Tribera, Costa Coffee added: “We’ve built a brilliant relationship with Tribera over many years, and they have a real understanding of Costa Coffee and what our brand stands for. They continue to bring fresh thinking to our Christmas cups while protecting the warmth and familiarity our customers love. It’s a genuinely collaborative partnership, and it’s always exciting to see the designs come to life in our stores.”

Why does a Birmingham agency on a national brand matter?

Some of the most visible creative in the country is made outside London. Tribera’s recent national work includes The Cornish Company’s first TV advert and a Gold-winning festive campaign for West Midlands Railway, and Costa’s Christmas cups now join that list for a second year.

Made in Brum. Enjoyed by the nation.
