THE ROYAL MINT
Star Wars Coin: Driving Sales with TikTok Creative
background
Tribera partnered with The Royal Mint to support the launch of their Star Wars commemorative coins. Our ongoing relationship centred on delivering creative paid social campaigns that build excitement and drive measurable results for new product launches.
Client Challenge
The Royal Mint sought to maximise awareness and sales for their limited-edition Star Wars coins. The challenge was to create stand-out paid social creative that would both intrigue new audiences and convert interest into purchases, all while optimising for cost efficiency across platforms.
Our Solution
Tribera storyboarded, captured, and produced two distinct TikTok ad creatives for the Star Wars coin launch: a behind-the-scenes (BTS) concept for Coin 1 and an ASMR-style product showcase for Coin 2. We managed the entire paid social campaign, including creative testing and ongoing optimisation. In parallel, we trialled slideshow formats on Facebook to compare performance and inform future creative direction.
The Results
The TikTok campaign achieved significant reach at a lower CPM than Facebook, with creative tailored to platform strengths. The ASMR-style creative (Coin 2) delivered a notably higher conversion rate, demonstrating the impact of detailed product showcases. The campaign provided actionable insights into what makes effective creative on paid social.
- TikTok CPM was 46% cheaper than Facebook (£2.80 vs £5.22), maximising reach within budget.
- Overall, the campaign delivered 2,007,843 TikTok impressions, 364 purchases, and a CPA of £14.70.
- The creative testing highlighted that platform-native, engaging content (such as ASMR and BTS) is key to paid social success, and that detailed product showcases outperform intrigue-based approaches in driving conversions.
By leveraging creative tailored to each platform and audience, Tribera delivered measurable impact for The Royal Mint’s Star Wars coin launch and established a blueprint for future paid social campaigns and further room to test.
